Book Club

The Creativity and Innovation Book Club

This assignment is just like a real book club, only it meets once and is required for this class.

Assignment:

Read one of the books listed below and meet with 3-5 fellow students to discuss the book in a book club style setting - 60 - 90 minutes at someone's home or in a cafe. During this discussion, flesh out the main points of the book. Some questions you should consider are: What stood out for you? What surprised you? Where is the author is right? wrong? How might this connect with your own work for this class or beyond?

On May 16 your group will have 12 minutes to share the book and your discussions with the rest of the class.

These books are about innovation, design, and creativity that I have enjoyed recently and think would support your project for this course as well as future projects. All are very readable - NOT in academicese, and all are under 250 pages, and as of March 4 2008, all were less than $16.50 new on Amazon.

Please sign up on this page for the book you would like to read; I've included links to their respecitve pages on Amazon where you can read summaries and reviews.
